GRADUATION TIME

With all three editors successfully graduating, this edition is focused upon tips for success in graduate school. Within the articles section, Shari Murray, who will have obtained two Master’s Degrees – one in International Business and the other in Industrial Engineering has written tips for success for a Master’s student and Michele Pfund, who will soon obtain her PhD in Industrial Engineering has written tips for success for a PhD student. Organized operations research in America was born 50 years ago in a founding meeting in Harriman, New York that was chaired by the legendary Philip M. Morse. We join INFORMS in celebrating this golden anniversary.

STUDENT CONTRIBUTIONS NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To help foster this community, we are issuing several calls for papers for our Fall Edition (Articles Section). These calls for papers are being requested to allow students to publish their research. We would also like to include a brief synopsis for each INFORMS student chapter as well as an area highlighting student achievements (scholarships, fellowships, jobs, and publications) in out FEATS section.

To encourage students and student chapters to be more involved, we will have the student chapter spotlight page in our future editions. We are thankful to the Stanford's student chapter for putting up their activities and achievement page. Links to this page is provided in FEATS section.

So, if you have something to contribute, please send it to either Michele.Pfund@asu.edu , Shari.Murray@asu.edu or Aditya.Rastogi@asu.edu. We would be happy to include it in our next edition.
